My son is visiting Hawaii and him and his friend were attacked by several guys in the street next to the beach in Waikiki. I would like to give the highest recommendation to Eye Doctors Hawaii and their staff. From my first appointment, I felt like I was family and not just another patient.

Nin, Kailani, Esther at the reception desk was exceptional. They recognized me by name, answered all of my questions, called to remind me of my appointments. Always smiled and welcomed me every time.

Linda was so friendly, despite my nervousness, she always took the time to explain the process. Her bubbly personality reduced my anxiety of having surgery and felt like it was going to be a painless but simple procedure.

Junice was amazing, she was very thorough with the information about the process, cost and options of what our family could do. She even gave my wife cookies that she personally cooked as a token of appreciation for our business. Who does that? People who see you as family!

Dr. Kenneth Chang is awesome, he noticed that i was from the North Shore and we had a conversation about his family owning a property in Punalu'u. I also discovered that he graduated from Punahou where four of my children attended. Once again, his friendliness and genuine concern made me feel comfortable about the surgery and confident that my well being was at the forefront and not my business.

When I found out that I need cataract surgery, I told my doctor that I want the best, I don't care how far it is, I want the best. She told me that Dr. Chang's office is in Hawaii Kai. For the record, I live in Lai'e, it takes about 1 1/2 hours to get there, it was the best decision I made, Dr. Kenneth Chang and his staff are exceptional. The staff here were very friendly, and the doctor was able to give me a diagnosis on my first visit. I've gone to multiple optometrist who did not have a clue as to what was going on with my eyes. This doctor accepts Tricare referrals so bonus for military members. Will definitely be back for future eye care.

Upon Moving to Hawaii I was looking for a new doctor to follow my Glaucoma and came across Eye Doctors Hawaii. I have been going to Dr. Chang for about 6 years now and I love the Staff and Dr! My name is Robert and I completely lost the vision in my left eye in April 2023. I went in very nervous, but all of the employees there were very reassuring that I had nothing to be afraid of. After the absolutely non-painful tests, the doctor told me his plan on the best way to regain my eyesight. After the first session, my eyesight started to return. Within days I could see shapes and numbers. With each visit, my eyesight got better and better. It is back to normal or even better than before. I'm not going to ever miss an appointment to make sure it never happens again. Eyesight- you can't see how much you need it till you don't have it. Thank you Eye Doctors Hawaii!

I’ve attempted to wear contacts my entire life but I could never get them in, but thanks to Linda I’m finally able to wear them! She was a great teacher and patient with me while I struggled to learn. If you struggle to wear contacts, ask for Linda! 🙂

Dr. Kenneth Chang performed laser cataract surgery on both eyes for me recently. He did a terrific job. The cataract in my right eye was a bad one but the surgery corrected the problem completely. The lens that were implanted corrected my longstanding myopia and Dr. Chang was able to use the laser to completely correct the astigmatism in my right eye and mostly in my left eye. After the surgery I had terrific vision and do not need to wear glasses except for reading. There was no pain or complications. Dr. Chang also has a very nice professional staff and attractive offices. To conclude, I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Chang for anyone who needs cataract surgery.

Updated: The doctor reached out to me personally to discuss my review as he cares about patients and their satisfaction with services. While my first interactions regarding billing, my appointment and finding the place we're not clear, he took the time to listen and address all my concerns without me feeling rushed or unheard. He heard my feedback and stated he would take that into account which is leaps beyond what most offices do on island. Overall, my appointment with the doctor was informative and he had good care. He is very knowledgeable. Know that since he is a specialist, billing will be as a medical appointment.

I had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Kenneth Chang of Eye Doctors Hawaii. He explained all the options and patiently answered my questions. He's calm and friendly. I'm very happy with the results. I recommend Dr. Chang and staff without reservations.

The staff,nurses and front desk personnel are very professional and kind. Dr. Chang is so great at what he does. My vision is so good and clear now the colors are so vibrant.

Post surgery my vision had increased to 20/15, better than when I was 18 years old (now 75). The most dramatic change, besides the clarity, were the colors. I now see life in HIGH DEFINITION! Couldn't be happier with all phases of Dr. Chang's treatment.

There are eye doctors, there are good cataract doctors but then there is Dr. CHANG! He literally saved my life ordering MRAs, MRIs, and getting me necessary treatment for a rare vasculitis! Symptoms for my eyes improved and systemic inflammation was addressed in other body parts, lung, skin

Incredible effort! My left eye was oblitherated by a knife, but then thanks to Dr Chang I was able to patch it back together and finally recover. You'll love the care and advice he'll give.

After an accident I developed double vision. I went to him because he is also a neurologist. While he couldn't be as aggressive in my treatment as I might like, he did confirm an earlier diagnosis by another doctor, and was extremely thorough in explaining my condition. This set me at ease. Dr. Chang's office staff is also extremely professional.

I attempted three times over a two week period (twice via the “contact us” on their website and once on their automated chat which allows booking of an appointment) with no response.

UPDATE: I have been contacted by Dr. Chang who left a voicemail explaining the above issue was related to a password change. This apparently was not relayed to the company managing their computer systems/network, thus disengaging the online forms. The company that is in charge of this also contacted me and accepted responsibility for ther error.
